Where do your enquiries actually live right now?

Where do your enquiries actually live right now?

If the honest answer involves the word and, you do not have a system. You have four places and a hope that somebody is watching all of them.

Answer this one out loud. Where does an enquiry go when it arrives?

For most businesses the honest answer is a list. Some come on the phone, some on WhatsApp, some by email, a few through the website, and the rest as a visiting card handed over at an exhibition and now sitting in somebody's shirt pocket.

That is not a system. That is four systems and a hope that somebody is watching all of them.

Three questions that expose it

Ask these about last month. Not to catch anybody out, just to see where you stand.

  • How many enquiries did we get? Not roughly. The number.
  • Which of them are still open right now, and who is handling each one?
  • Where did they come from, and which source actually turned into money?

Most owners cannot answer any of the three with confidence. And the third one matters more than people realise, because without it marketing money gets spent on feel rather than evidence. You keep paying for the channel that brings the most calls instead of the one that brings the most orders.

What a real list gives you

It is a small thing with an unreasonable effect. Every enquiry in one place, with a source, an owner and a next date.

Nothing drops, because the list shows what is due. Nobody has to remember, because remembering is the part that fails. And at the end of the month you can see what came in, what closed, and what the reason was for the rest.

That last part is where the real improvement comes from. You stop guessing why you are losing.

Right now, without checking: how many open enquiries does your business have, and who is handling each one?

One list, one owner, one next date. We put this in place quickly. Ask us what yours would look like.
